Last week we had a lock-in at the Roesner House. We were participating in http://www.30hourfamine.org/. What can I say about our youth? They were troopers! Here is a quick run down of what they did...
Went around Katy neighborhoods and asked for canned food donations
Comment: summertime in Houston
Worked for several hours at Katy Christian Ministries sorting clothes and Christmas items
Comment: no food in stomachs and legs were really tired from walking around in the morning
Committed to fasting for 30 hours
Comment: alot of the kids had never experienced the discipline of fasting before
With limited complaining, Ed and Alicia were really proud of the teens. We ended the fast around 6:30 p.m. on Friday night w/ the Katy parents making us a FEAST! We were stuffed with Chinese chicken wings, spaghetti, vegetables, homemade soup, etc.
Sidenote: Ed and Alicia are OLD! It took us about 2 days to recover from the lock-in. We couldn't bounce back like the old days.
