Faith - 23 Months

Auntie Cheryl and Hannah made some yummy curry pastries
loves to watch you cook or "help"
I've been letting her help by putting veggies or whatever we are eating in the cooking bowl. Also, I let her mix things with the spoons or let her add seasoning. She seems to eat better when I let her be a part of the action.
been feeding her stuffed animals all sorts of different soups, milk, and "mum mum"
got to celebrate Auntie Kara and Chibong's engagement!
wow, that's alot of bling!
bear bear is now her best friend...she likes to take it everywhere she goes
here is she chattering away and making bear bear a hat

The countdown begins for this little girl to finally be 2!!!! Lots of things to remember about this stage. She's everywhere and anywhere. I love how she is fearless to try new things, has an eagle eye for detail, and finds new ways to hurt her little sister. Actually, Faith has now accepted Kate as a part of her life now...it only took a few weeks, but one of the first things she does after she wakes up is look for Kate and say "hi, Baby Kate". She even will be patting her bear bear at night just like I burp Kate. She's become quite the mimic these days as well as a fashionista -- will pick out her own shoes to wear.
Some things to remember:
  • can recite 2 words "shepherd" and "need" when reciting her memory verse
  • can recite the entire poem "one, two...buckle my shoe, etc."
  • hasn't made any progress on her ABCs
  • new 2-word and 3-word phrases like "thank you, your welcome, good morning, hi daddy, there it is, i'm sorry"
  • my favorite current word of hers is "okay, okay"
  • likes to run away from her time-out spot
  • loves to eat blueberries, soup, yogurt, and McDonald chicken nuggets
  • major eczema around her eyes
  • has started waking up occasionally from her night sleep and wants Mom/Dad to comfort her
  • loves to wave to passing cars, check the mail, run around with the neighborhood kids, and go to church and the babysitter (Goo's house)
  • started picking her nose and butt
  • tells us when she needs a diaper change by saying "pee" or "poo poo"
  • she remembers the strangest vocabulary words like "pine cone" or "vitamin" or "medicine" or "Bong-Bong" (my sister's fiance who she doesn't see that often)
  • can correctly identify several family members by name if we show her a picture
  • favorite toys: rocking horse, stuffed animals, kitchen play set, magna doodle, playground
  • can go down any slide in the park now and hold on when she sits on the swing set & we push her
  • loves reading
  • molars are in ...slobbering everywhere and putting weird stuff in her mouth
