TX Children's Hospital

we took this picture right before
receiving the call to go to the hospital

Parenthood has been quite a roller coaster already. Not sure if you heard, but last Friday, baby Faith had to be admitted to Memorial Hermann Katy to undergo phototherapy treatment for jaundice. We stayed until Saturday night, and was discharged that evening. However, we continually battled the jaundice and high biliruben count all last week. Faith has been tested three times since last Monday alone, and last Thursday our pediatrician told us to admit her to Texas Children's Memorial in the Med Center.

Several hours after being admitted to the NICU, a team of doctors, after hearing Faith's history and the jaundice that has run in Alicia's family, decided to move Faith from Level 2 to Level 3 (where more serious child cases go). So currently, there are teams of doctors monitoring Faith's condition 24/7. Scary, huh? Suddenly jaundice doesn't seem so non-threatening.

Faith has responded well to treatment and went off the lights yesterday. The doctors are hopeful that we'll be able to go home on Sunday afternoon if Faith's levels stay low.

Special shoutouts go to the Eng Family, Nana & Yeh Yeh, Uncle Gordo, Auntie Amy, Cousin Myla, Auntie Denise, and Pau Pau. Thank you to everyone for praying for our daughter. We really appreciate it.
