8 Months Old

first cold front

couldn't find matching socks that day

not a baby anymore

prefers to stand

hair long enough for pigtails

Today, the little chunky monkey is 8 months old. God is so good to us.

Highlights:
*learned how to crawl
*clapping hands (not on command)

*eating puffs and 3 solid meals a day

*attended 1st high school basketball game

*holds her hands to her ears when she is tired

*starting to babble alot more (favorite is "mmmamaaaa")

*met Baby Chii for the 1st time

*sleeps 7 - 7 and takes 2 2-hour naps on good days, on bad days -- only 1 nap and goes to sleep between 5-6pm

*busted out the winter clothes for the cold fronts

*wearing 6-9 month old clothes now

*1st rash appeared -- have no idea what caused it

*likes to dance, sing, being read to, and play peek a boo

*stranger anxiety, likes to be held, stages of crying fits starting (w/ arching of back)

*sleeping upstairs in the crib all by her lonesome

*laugh is emerging and it sounds like a grunt mixed with a low, husky voice

*created a play area for her downstairs

*1st time eating pineapple, mangos, butternut squash, strawberry, berries, yogurt

*teething like mad (drooling, everything in mouth, random fever...) but NO TEETH yet!

*church nursery had to pull Mom out of service b/c baby was crying so hard

*usually there is a night feed once a night, but occassionally she slept through completely

*Nana babysat many times while Mom/Dad played softball on Thursdays
